Your Role

Are you passionate about solving advanced Data Science and IT challenges? Join us at UBS and take on a pivotal role in our market-leading data science model development platform. As a Data Science Developer Intern, you will:

  • Take sole responsibility for MLOps pipeline development within UBS’s model development framework, using technologies like Airflow, Databricks workflows, and Databricks containerizing services (DCS).
  • Design and deliver data models on the Azure cloud platform to support Data & Analytics initiatives.
  • Act as a product champion for Microsoft Azure products such as Azure Databricks and Azure Kubernetes Services, applying them to data science applications.
  • Quickly grasp technical concepts and solve complex problems.
  • Collaborate closely with UBS risk methodology teams to understand and address their business challenges.

Internship Overview

Our 12-month internship program offers invaluable work experience to jumpstart your career. You’ll work alongside top professionals in finance, gaining insights into day-to-day operations and our unique corporate culture.

Your Team

You’ll be part of the UBS Risk IT, RCT (Run Configuration Tool), and Model Services team. This team plays a critical role in Risk Management by providing comprehensive solutions for risk model execution and administration, ensuring informed decision-making and regulatory compliance across global markets.

Your Expertise

  • Completed at least four semesters of a bachelor’s degree or obtained a master’s degree within the last 6 months, preferably in a MINT (Mathematics, Informatics, Natural Sciences, and Technology) discipline.
  • Passion for technology and the ability to seek tactical and optimal solutions pragmatically.
  • Proficiency in Python programming; additional knowledge in R, Scala, and Java is advantageous.
  • Academic or professional experience in quantitative finance or machine learning is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, versioning technologies like GitHub, and GIT build pipelines.
  • Foundational understanding of parallel computing technologies such as Apache Spark, Dask, Ray, or In-Memory Data Grid.
  • Fluency in English.
