About the Role:

Our client, a leading company in the Engineering, is seeking a skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join their engineering team. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative product designs, particularly within the automation industry. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical engineering skills, proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, and a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Design: Develop, design, and enhance new and existing products, ensuring they meet functional, aesthetic, and safety requirements.
  • CAD Proficiency: Utilize CAD software, particularly Solid Edge, to create detailed design models and technical drawings.
  • Mechanical and Electrical Integration: Apply mechanical and electrical engineering principles to ensure seamless component integration in product designs.
  • Problem-Solving: Analyze and resolve complex design and engineering challenges, providing innovative solutions to improve product performance and manufacturability.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, production teams, and project managers, to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and meet project deadlines.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation of designs, processes, and procedures, ensuring all engineering activities are well-documented and traceable.
  • Industry Standards: Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and certifications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field. A Diploma or BE in Mechanical Engineering is also acceptable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in design and engineering, with a preference for candidates with experience in automation design within an industrial setting.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, with a strong emphasis on Solid Edge.
    • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.
    • Familiarity with electrical engineering concepts and their application in product design.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate within a team environment.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry Experience: Prior experience in automation design within the industrial sector.
